Mission Statement
Mari's Children is a not-for-profit organization founded by Mari Linnman, the owner of The Art Farm, a children's day camp in Bridgehampton. Mari's Children is a little bit like "Robin Hood for kids." We believe the campers learn about the importance of giving back through their participation in fundraising for children in need. Each summer we educate our campers about the projects we are sponsoring for Mari's Children and keep them informed of our progress.
Mari's Children is an integral part of The Art Farm's philosophy of helping others. We are a completely volunteer organization that works with children in need all over the world. Our current projects are in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Costa Rica and Africa.
We raise our funds through our Farmer's Market and our Summer Carnival. All the campers get involved in our weekly Farmer's Market by baking cinnamon rolls, cookies, brownies, bringing fresh eggs from the farm, and picking tomatoes from the garden to sell each Friday. At our Summer Carnival we invite all of the children in the community so they can join the fun as well as help children around the world.
The Art Farm has a second location on the Upper East Side in New York City where they offer summer camp, birthday parties, mommy and me classes in art, baking, music and animal care. They also have a toy store inside the facility. Every family who sends their child to preschool at The Art Farm in the City sponsors a child to be able to attend school in Chiang Mai, Thailand through their tuition. Whether you join camp, preschool, take classes or buy a toy at either The Art Farm in the City or in the Hamptons you help a child in need. Both companies give a percentage of their annual profits to Mari's Children.
Mari personally sponsors her trips to visit every project to make sure that every dollar you donate goes directly to the children.
